Since 1984 there have been a number of attempts to create this Black Alumni and Friends group. The hope has continued to enable us to bridge the gap between us, current students and the mainstream alumni. The WVU alumni association has improved immensely regarding its efforts to reach out to black alumni. Over the past seven years WVU BAA has proactively directed its own alumni agenda and events that uniquely address black alumni needs. However, numbers matter and often time speak volumes. Our numbers indicate there is curiosity, but not commitment to our own cause.
For this effort to continue to exceed expectations, we need you to formally join our alumni association. If you believe you've made the right decision to attend WVU, if you have met people at WVU that are now life long friends or if you're simply a proud mountaineer, then you are who we need to make this successful.
Please do not hesitate another day. We are just asking you to prove that your time at WVU was worth $25 per year. Make your voice heard today and formally join WVU BAA.
